Antonio Calles

Dr. Calles completed his medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2004, followed by his Medical Oncology residency at Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid, which he finished in 2009. He later pursued advanced training, completing a Phase I trials fellowship at START-Madrid, a post-doctoral position at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO), and a two-year research fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, USA.
Since 2016, Dr. Calles has served as a medical oncologist at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, where he is actively involved in early-phase clinical trials and translational research. Alongside his clinical work, he is an assistant professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and acts as chief resident supervisor in Medical Oncology.
Dr. Calles is a member of several leading professional societies, including ESMO, ASCO, AACR, the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), and the Spanish Lung Cancer Group (SLCG). He currently serves as a faculty member of the Lung and Other Thoracic Tumours group at ESMO.
